Frequently Asked Questions
Pregnancy is calculated from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), not from conception. This adds about 2 weeks to the actual fetal age.
Only 4% of babies are born on their exact due date. Most births occur between 37-42 weeks. Due dates are estimates, not guarantees.
Use an early ultrasound date. The first trimester ultrasound (8-12 weeks) is the most accurate for dating pregnancy.
Count weeks from the first day of your last period. For example, if your LMP was 8 weeks ago, you're 8 weeks pregnant.
First trimester: weeks 1-12. Second trimester: weeks 13-26. Third trimester: weeks 27-40+.
